Fernan Abeijon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernani Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Melquiades Ugutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Sebastian Vettel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hernani Rodrigues. That made the score 4-0 in the 23 minute of play. Sebastian Vettel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Hernani Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Montrelle succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 33rd playminute. After a rather tough play, LIONS's Loco Flush got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcos Arotza made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Basilio Haimar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hernani Rodrigues skillfully saved the ball. After 54 minutes, Juan Palben mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LIONS and the CA Justicialismo Unido players grew even worse after the yellow card.
