FK Zarkovo Beograd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Žarkovo the free kick. After 12 played minutes FK Zarkovo Beograd got a freekick which was hit by Stevica Tomanić. In the 30th match minute, Žarkovo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Žarko Radonjić to maneuver through the defense. Velimir Mihajlović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute Žarko Radonjić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragomir Mirosavljević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th match minute, FK Zarkovo Beograd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Velimir Mihajlović to maneuver through the defense. Dragomir Mirosavljević made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jelenko Makajev in the 42nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Velimir Mihajlović during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Velimir Mihajlović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dušan Komljenović to strike the kick off in the second half. Antonije Nešković hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute FK Zarkovo Beograd were awarded a corner. Velimir Mihajlović went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Dušan Popadić advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 54th minute. If Dušan Komljenović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dušan Komljenović came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the FK Zarkovo Beograd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dušan Komljenović couldn't finish the play. Žarkovo's Vidosav Brajušković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Komljenović in the 62nd minute of play. Dušan Komljenović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FK Zarkovo Beograd's Dragomir Mirosavljević proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save FK Zarkovo Beograd from getting a goal against them. Dušan Komljenović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Vidosav Brajušković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Žarkovo's zone, Dušan Komljenović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vidosav Brajušković came out of the goal and Dušan Komljenović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FK Zarkovo Beograd's Velimir Mihajlović got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
