Sune Hermansson made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Dan Lind sent off a good shot on target. Lars-Erik Mogren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sune Hermansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. When Rune Joensson fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malmö FK's protests and gave Rune Joensson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Malmö FK's Rune Joensson got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 23 played minutes Malmö FK got a freekick which was hit by Sakarias Björkkvist. When Sakarias Björkkvist fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malmö FK's protests and gave Sakarias Björkkvist a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Malmö FK getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Sakarias Björkkvist hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Lars-Erik Mogren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sune Hermansson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Black Sphinx XI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petter Hedkvist in the 29th minute. Sune Hermansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Mogren in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes of play Malmö FK's Rune Joensson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Black Sphinx XI booed when Malmö FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Joensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Lars-Erik Mogren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sune Hermansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Malmö FK's goalkeeper Sune Hermansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claes Odin. After the first half Malmö FK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jack Karlstedt was a little too slow when Sakarias Björkkvist got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-2. In the 61st match minute, Black Sphinx XI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Oskar Berg to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Black Sphinx XI booed when Malmö FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivar Martinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Malmö FK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
