The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Joachim Colin came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Eagle IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joachim Colin couldn't finish the play. In the 6th minute, Jonatan Käcker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jörn Lindström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt-Åke Winström went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th minute Kent Tinglöv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörn Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Tinglöv in the 18th minute of play forced Eagle IF's goalkeeper Jörn Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th match minute, FireFighter FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Sefastsson to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvald Björk in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjell Mårtensson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joachim Colin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kjell Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Osvald Björk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Mårtensson having to interfere. When Eagle IF's Osvald Björk in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvald Björk was the one to do the kick off. Joachim Colin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvald Björk in the 69th minute of play forced FireFighter FC's goalkeeper Kjell Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FireFighter FC booed when Eagle IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Offendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjell Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvald Björk in the 81st minute of the match. Jörn Lindström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Winström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FireFighter FC's Jonatan Käcker got a free kick in the 88th minute. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by FireFighter FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Håkan Henriksson was slow to take the kick. During this time Eagle IF's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Håkan Henriksson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FireFighter FC's Kjell Mårtensson did a great save. The Eagle IF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FireFighter FC's performance. The match ended with a win for FireFighter FC.
