The Hellas Malmö FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Juventus FC's zone, Wiktor Haglund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egil Qvarnström came out of the goal and Wiktor Haglund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Bröms in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egil Qvarnström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The corner ended in Östen Fagerberg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Juventus FC's Egil Qvarnström did a great save. Egil Qvarnström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jarl Österlund in the 22nd minute. In the 29th minute, Hellas Malmö FC's Albert Bröms dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 32nd minute Albert Bröms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egil Qvarnström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Gallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norbert Chappuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Johnsson in the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Hellas Malmö FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Johnsson came free, but Norbert Chappuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Dick Brenner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egil Qvarnström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Bröms made a kick off. Hellas Malmö FC's Patrik Björkdahl got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurt Berggren kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Egil Qvarnström came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hellas Malmö FC's Patrik Björkdahl. But to his dismay, Patrik Björkdahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Egil Qvarnström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Bröms, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Patrik Björkdahl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egil Qvarnström. Juventus FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrik Björkdahl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. If Jack Palmquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes Hellas Malmö FC got a freekick which was hit by Jack Palmquist. Norbert Chappuis made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Gilbert Johnsson sent off a good shot on target. Jarl Österlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Egil Qvarnström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albert Bröms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Patrik Björkdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Qvarnström having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Patrik Björkdahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hellas Malmö FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Björkdahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jonas Fridlund came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Juventus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Fridlund couldn't finish the play. Egil Qvarnström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarl Österlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Patrik Björkdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Qvarnström having to interfere.
