Gaute Storsveen started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Carlsberggutta's zone, Terje Øksnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Åge Hemnes came out of the goal and Terje Øksnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Empires Football Club's Tor-Arne Viste got control of the ball when Ole-Jostein Abrahamsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlsberggutta's Ole-Jostein Abrahamsen got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ole-Jostein Abrahamsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Tor-Arne Viste made a huge save. Ole-Johan Øiestad charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ole-Johan Øiestad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ole-Johan Øiestad hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Tor-Egil Helleren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Åge Hemnes skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Empires Football Club booed when Carlsberggutta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ole-Johan Øiestad didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Empires Football Club's Gaute Storsveen in 26 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Åge Hemnes guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Birger Friberg hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Gaute Storsveen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 played minutes, Empires Football Club's Odin Løset shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Åge Hemnes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Empires Football Club reached it. In the 37th minute of the match, Jonathan Slyngstad tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tor-Arne Viste saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Terje Øksnes struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Åge Hemnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Empires Football Club. Terje Øksnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaute Storsveen in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Åge Hemnes saved Carlsberggutta from getting behind. Åge Hemnes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaute Storsveen went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonathan Slyngstad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Asmund Haugan kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Empires Football Club's Gaute Storsveen pulled a muscle in his back after 62 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 65 minutes into the match, Carlsberggutta's goalkeeper Åge Hemnes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Terje Øksnes. If Terje Øksnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terje Øksnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Åge Hemnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 minutes, Nils-Arne Korsvold mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlsberggutta and the Empires Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Carlsberggutta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Arne Korsvold to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Carlsberggutta's goalkeeper Åge Hemnes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tor-Egil Helleren. Tor-Arne Viste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Slyngstad in the 77th minute of play. Terje Øksnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Tor-Henrik Hveem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Empires Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Tor-Henrik Hveem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Åge Hemnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Terje Øksnes struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Åge Hemnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Empires Football Club. With his leg Åge Hemnes managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Empires Football Club's Terje Øksnes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Terje Øksnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Åge Hemnes having to interfere. Åge Hemnes made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Terje Øksnes sent off a good shot on target. Ole-Jostein Abrahamsen took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tor-Arne Viste. Tor-Arne Viste dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Empires Football Club played a much better game than Carlsberggutta and deserved their victory. The Carlsberggutta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
