The Archem fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Archem's Gerrit Overdiep looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerrit Overdiep in the 15th minute of play forced Lieving's goalkeeper Pieter Palsma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepijn Cranenburgh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Archem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerrit Overdiep was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
54 minutes into the game, Gerrit Overdiep cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Pieter Palsma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gijsbert Borgman came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Lieving fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert Borgman couldn't finish the play. Gerrit Overdiep fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter Palsma having to interfere. Pepijn Cranenburgh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven Staarman kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Gijsbert Borgman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arno van Olst, passed just outside the right post. Tom van Zanten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Lieving's Bertus Graaff couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Archem. After having played for 79 minutes, Gerrit Overdiep managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Archem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerrit Overdiep was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lieving's Wim Brugmans got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 85 minutes of play, Archem's Pepijn Cranenburgh made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pieter Palsma was left in no man's land by his defense there! 95 minutes into the game, Lieving's Tom van Zanten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arno van Olst made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
