Damiano Mandelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmine Cinque having to interfere. With a little luck, Montenovo FC's Bruno Vanni got control of the ball when Bernardo De Bartolo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Bruno Vanni managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Roversano's Edoardo Di Maria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 23rd minute, Edoardo Di Maria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Edoardo Di Maria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 29 minutes, Damiano Mandelli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montenovo FC and the Roversano players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Roversano lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
