The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes Due Sicilie got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Gelsomini. If Alfonso Granata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amedeo Castellani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlo Bianco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A.c Tre dei Frati's Emiliano Graziano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Bianco in the 19th minute of play. Andrea Gelsomini struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Emiliano Graziano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Due Sicilie. After a defensive mix-up in Due Sicilie's zone, Alfonso Granata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Ceci came out of the goal and Alfonso Granata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A.c Tre dei Frati's Alfonso Granata got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Bianco in the 44th minute of play forced A.c Tre dei Frati's goalkeeper Emiliano Graziano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cristiano Brandolini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Due Sicilie's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Brandolini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emiliano Graziano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emiliano Graziano came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Due Sicilie's Carlo Bianco. But to his dismay, Carlo Bianco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Diego Bergomi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrea Gelsomini kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Alfonso Granata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bianco Bartolucci hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlo Bianco got free with Emiliano Graziano in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Carlo Bianco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Due Sicilie's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Bianco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrea Gelsomini succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. If Andrea Gelsomini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Cristiano Brandolini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alfonso Granata came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the A.c Tre dei Frati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Granata couldn't finish the play. Fausto Ceci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Suriani, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. A.c Tre dei Frati's Emiliano Graziano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Bianco in the 97th minute of play. The Due Sicilie supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Due Sicilie would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
