Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carboneras CF's Archibaldo Guerrero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergi Helguera in the 6th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Gabriel Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carboneras CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Gonzalez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the match, Alsamora's goal looked a bit too open when Balesio Gil came free, but Remigio Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 16 minutes, Gabriel Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carboneras CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Gonzalez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remigio Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Gonzalez, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Gabriel Gonzalez came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Carboneras CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Gonzalez couldn't finish the play. Sergi Helguera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Remigio Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Gonzalez in the 25th minute of play. Balesio Gil succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Balesio Gil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Atilio Rua's late challenge caught a Carboneras CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilio Rua helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Atilio Rua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergi Helguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Archibaldo Guerrero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nalo Domenech who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Archibaldo Guerrero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Carboneras CF's goalkeeper Archibaldo Guerrero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 46 played minutes Sergi Helguera rounded Carboneras CF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Remigio Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balesio Gil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Balesio Gil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Carboneras CF booed when Alsamora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atilio Rua didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Carboneras CF defense, Nalo Domenech kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Archibaldo Guerrero. The Carboneras CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Archibaldo Guerrero should have stopped the shot. Carboneras CF's Balesio Gil was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 75th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 79th minute, Nalo Domenech got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ursino Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Gonzalo Lillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute of the match, Balesio Gil tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Remigio Fernandez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Narciso Valcarcel hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Carboneras CF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carboneras CF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
