After a defensive mix-up in Nyborg's zone, Bertram Dannebrog stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Piotr Bringeby came out of the goal and Bertram Dannebrog tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Nyborg's Elmar Hardysø got a free kick in the 9th minute. Svenåge Liengaard's late challenge caught a Nyborg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Svenåge Liengaard helped the player get up and apologised. Svenåge Liengaard kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Nyborg's Frederick Wexøe couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for StarKad United. After 17 played minutes StarKad United got a freekick which was hit by Svenåge Liengaard. Fabian Røjskjær showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gynther Nebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Nyborg's goal looked a bit too open when Bertram Dannebrog came free, but Piotr Bringeby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gynther Nebo struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Fabian Røjskjær didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nyborg. If Vagner Tauling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Aksel Kiaby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nyborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Aksel Kiaby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Røjskjær breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 played minutes StarKad United got a freekick which was hit by Sigfried Ternvalt. Aksel Kiaby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Bertram Dannebrog's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Piotr Bringeby was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gynther Nebo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Al Rosted's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piotr Bringeby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Al Rosted in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Piotr Bringeby saved Nyborg from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Aksel Kiaby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nyborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Aksel Kiaby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Røjskjær breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 63 minutes, Gynther Nebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nyborg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gynther Nebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nyborg's goalkeeper Piotr Bringeby, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, StarKad United's Fabian Røjskjær got control of the ball when Aksel Kiaby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gynther Nebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Røjskjær having to interfere. After a rather tough play, StarKad United's Helmer Veseltoft got a free kick in the 91st minute. The StarKad United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
