An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Campen in the 26th minute of play forced North Ferriby United's goalkeeper Ewald Kuckuck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Edmund Benzler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Ferriby United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hamburger Sport-Verein the free kick. Mika Guenther charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mika Guenther the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, North Ferriby United's Mika Guenther got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Mika Guenther could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Ty Murmann made a huge save. A collision led to North Ferriby United getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mika Guenther hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heiko Jojade to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Heiko Jojade managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Ferriby United's supporters rose to their feet, but Heiko Jojade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ty Murmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matt Leers couldn't finish the play. Ty Murmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mika Guenther's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Gerrit Breuler was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, one of North Ferriby United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for North Ferriby United. When Hamburger Sport-Verein's Tim Campen in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye North Ferriby United's goalie prevented a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hamburger Sport-Verein walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
