Jannis Robin's late challenge caught a Vc Brye's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jannis Robin helped the player get up and apologised. After 2 played minutes FC De Sloverkes got a freekick which was hit by Jannis Robin. When Philippe-Arnaud Verbeke came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the FC De Sloverkes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philippe-Arnaud Verbeke couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jannis Robin in the 8th minute of play forced Vc Brye's goalkeeper Bob Worteleers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jannis Robin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bob Worteleers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC De Sloverkes's Jannis Robin got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bob Worteleers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart-Jan Van Bockorst in the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC De Sloverkes's Aadu De Roeulx got a free kick in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vc Brye's zone, Bart-Jan Van Bockorst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bob Worteleers came out of the goal and Bart-Jan Van Bockorst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jannis Robin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 44 minutes, Anton Loremans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vc Brye and the FC De Sloverkes players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vc Brye getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Anton Loremans hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 57th minute, Jannis Robin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FC De Sloverkes booed when Vc Brye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudi Maerschalckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Philippe-Arnaud Verbeke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Worteleers having to interfere.
