Alfred Lijsens made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Brent-Jan Van de cauter sent off a good shot on target. Marten Pancken kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, vk valaarhof's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Ackermans came free, but Alfred Lijsens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Brent-Jan Van de cauter could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Alfred Lijsens however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Tugay Kerimoglu managed to get in a good position for a shot. GentFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tugay Kerimoglu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfred Lijsens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfred Lijsens was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Dominik Ackermans capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dominik Ackermans really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Brent-Jan Van de cauter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hudson Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Jamieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Alfred Lijsens was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Brent-Jan Van de cauter capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brent-Jan Van de cauter really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Brent-Jan Van de cauter took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Alfred Lijsens to make any attempt to save it. If Brent-Jan Van de cauter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hudson Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Jamieson in the 42nd minute of the match. Alfred Lijsens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominik Ackermans in the 43rd minute of play. Brent-Jan Van de cauter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dominik Ackermans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelo Jamieson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brent-Jan Van de cauter took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Lijsens. Alfred Lijsens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. The GentFC fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when GentFC's Brent-Jan Van de cauter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 59 played minutes GentFC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremey De Ryck. Brent-Jan Van de cauter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Lijsens having to interfere. In the 64th minute of the match Chris-George Martens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hudson Costa skillfully saved the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Brent-Jan Van de cauter notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of vk valaarhof's Alfred Lijsens. Alfred Lijsens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. vk valaarhof's Alfred Lijsens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tugay Kerimoglu in the 68th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Jamieson in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hudson Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute Brent-Jan Van de cauter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Lijsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brent-Jan Van de cauter in the 77th minute of play forced vk valaarhof's goalkeeper Alfred Lijsens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute of the match GentFC got a corner. vk valaarhof's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marten Pancken ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Marten Pancken almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but vk valaarhof's Alfred Lijsens did a great save. Brent-Jan Van de cauter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Lijsens having to interfere. If Brent-Jan Van de cauter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hudson Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Jamieson in the 93rd minute of the match. vk valaarhof's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gilbert De Kelper in the 94th minute.
