Hlamane Mahlangu lost his temper 5 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 6th match minute, Mcotsho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hlamane Mahlangu to maneuver through the defense. Boyisani Nhlapo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Buculeasa in the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Highlanders FC's Thabile Thobejane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Boyisani Nhlapo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thabile Thobejane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Nhlapo having to interfere. With a little luck, Mcotsho's Boyisani Nhlapo got control of the ball when Thabile Thobejane tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Darren Zwane fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mcotsho's protests and gave Darren Zwane a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Highlanders FC booed when Mcotsho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Zwane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thabile Thobejanes short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Boyisani Nhlapo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Mcotsho's Boyisani Nhlapo got control of the ball when Thabile Thobejane tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Michael Dinha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highlanders FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Dinha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 26 played minutes Mcotsho got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Salaya. Thabile Thobejane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Nhlapo having to interfere. Thabile Thobejanes short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Boyisani Nhlapo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Highlanders FC's Petru Buculeasa got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thabile Thobejane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Nhlapo having to interfere. Thabile Thobejane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Boyisani Nhlapo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Mcotsho got a freekick which was hit by Jaak Taelma. Boyisani Nhlapo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Buculeasa in the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thabile Thobejane was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thabile Thobejane in the 53rd minute of play forced Mcotsho's goalkeeper Boyisani Nhlapo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thabile Thobejane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66thth minute of the game Petru Buculeasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mcotsho's Boyisani Nhlapo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Mabele in the 69th minute of play forced Mcotsho's goalkeeper Boyisani Nhlapo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Michael Dinha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Boyisani Nhlapo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thabile Thobejane in the 77th minute of play forced Mcotsho's goalkeeper Boyisani Nhlapo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mcotsho's Boyisani Nhlapo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Buculeasa in the 81st minute of play. Boyisani Nhlapo came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Highlanders FC's Petru Buculeasa. But to his dismay, Petru Buculeasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 93rd minute, Thabile Thobejane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Highlanders FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Boyisani Nhlapo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petru Buculeasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Highlanders FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
