Spectators: 5100 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Martin Cumpanașu kicked off to start the match. Lucrețiu Mercescu's late challenge caught a Runcurel CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucrețiu Mercescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Lucrețiu Mercescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionică Mălaimare in the 8th minute of play forced Steaua FC Iasi's goalkeeper Bogdan Negruț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steaua FC Iasi's Bogdan Negruț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vintilă Horodincă in the 10th minute of play. Ion Ciocârlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bogdan Negruț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ion Ciocârlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bogdan Negruț having to make a save. Bogdan Negruț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vintilă Horodincă, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Lucrețiu Mercescu got his second yellow card in the match during the 21st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 21 played minutes Steaua FC Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Lucrețiu Mercescu. Ion Ciocârlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Bogdan Negruț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steaua FC Iasi's goalkeeper Bogdan Negruț, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Runcurel CSS's Ion Ciocârlan, in the 37th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Runcurel CSS. 38 minutes into the match, Steaua FC Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Horodincă came free, but Bogdan Negruț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogdan Negruț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ion Ciocârlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vintilă Horodincă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vintilă Horodincă made a kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Steaua FC Iasi's Martin Cumpanașu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sorin Cismaș was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, David Cozmâncă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua FC Iasi's supporters rose to their feet, but David Cozmâncă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sorin Cismaș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute Vintilă Horodincă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Negruț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bogdan Negruț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vintilă Horodincă in the 69th minute of the match. Ion Ciocârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Negruț having to interfere. Gică Paveliuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Bogdan Negruț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Runcurel CSS's Vintilă Horodincă dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Steaua FC Iasi's Martin Cumpanașu got a free kick in the 83rd minute. If Ion Ciocârlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Steaua FC Iasi's Bogdan Negruț got control of the ball when Ion Ciocârlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua FC Iasi's zone, Vintilă Horodincă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Negruț came out of the goal and Vintilă Horodincă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Steaua FC Iasi's Aurel Nichitelea got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Steaua FC Iasi fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Runcurel CSS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
