After 8 minutes, Martin Burdujan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ACS Catenaccio and the DRK players grew even worse after the yellow card. David Herescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augustin Olteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ciprian Buricea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorin Mangra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nicu Covataru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolae Aelenei was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. David Herescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nicolae Aelenei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Costin Bunoaică was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DRK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ACS Catenaccio the free kick. The supporters of ACS Catenaccio booed when DRK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costin Bunoaică didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Panait Socoriceanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciprian Buricea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 68th minute, Costin Bunoaică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Nicu Covataru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Aelenei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 minutes of play DRK's Costin Bunoaică was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Panait Socoriceanu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Augustin Olteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, DRK's Gabriel Ioneasa got a free kick in the 83rd minute. When David Herescu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the DRK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Herescu couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Leonard Albu managed to get in a good position for a shot. DRK's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Albu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolae Aelenei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Augustin Olteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. DRK fully deserved thier win.
