A collision led to Galatasaray SK getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Songur Ilgınlı hit a great ball. In the 21st minute Aytek Neval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mirkelam Kutlubay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Galatasaray SK's Aytek Neval slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mirkelam Kutlubay. That made the score 3-0 after 44 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gazi Senih stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vecdet Ersal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gazi Senih in the 53rd minute. Aytek Neval blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mirkelam Kutlubay having to make a save. Songur Ilgınlı took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mirkelam Kutlubay. Mirkelam Kutlubay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Orhan Veli Erten kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 67 minutes, Ayberk Onar mouthed his way into the referee's book.
