In the 15thth minute of the game Ildırım Salmanov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Babäk IK's Nabat Qämbärov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hümmät Färhadov charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hümmät Färhadov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafiq Bändäliyev during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Qarabag booed when Babäk IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hümmät Färhadov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ildırım Salmanov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ildırım Salmanov couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Rafiq Bändäliyev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 97 minutes Qarabag's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ähäd Ibişov who took care of the corner kick. Qarabag walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
