With a little luck, Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen got control of the ball when Dale Kirkpatrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, one of Matheu City FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Kirkpatrick in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, University of Rochester's Dale Kirkpatrick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celedonio Eguen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Drew Casey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Belmiro in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of University of Rochester booed when Matheu City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Dale Kirkpatrick could shoot a difficult shot in the 31st minute, which Celedonio Eguen however easily saved by the left post. After 32 minutes Matheu City FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elazar Paz who took care of the corner kick. University of Rochester's Drew Casey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Belmiro in the 39th minute of play. After 44 played minutes Matheu City FC got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Blanco. After 45 played minutes University of Rochester got a freekick which was hit by Dale Kirkpatrick. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dale Kirkpatrick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ernesto Cao Xiao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Gonzo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Drew Casey made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Kirkpatrick in the 70th minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Dale Kirkpatrick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Celedonio Eguen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. University of Rochester made a substitution. Bryon Little replaced Tyrell Pitts. In the 77th minute Dale Kirkpatrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Eguen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Dale Kirkpatrick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celedonio Eguen. Matheu City FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dale Kirkpatrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Kirkpatrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eulalio Santio during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Matheu City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eulalio Santio to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes University of Rochester got a freekick which was hit by Darin Sands. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Kirkpatrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
