Aaron Smallwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lanny Gilmore in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sigit Sulaksana, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lanny Gilmore's late challenge caught a Slower Lower FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lanny Gilmore helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Lanny Gilmore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santos FC's attentive Mike Richardson managed to snatch the ball when Joshua Farrell made a throw-in in the 10th minute of the game. Sigit Sulaksana made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Lanny Gilmore sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lanny Gilmore in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sigit Sulaksana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th minute of the match Santos FC got a corner. Slower Lower FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vern Pierre ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Titus Kohler managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Lanny Gilmore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sigit Sulaksana having to make a save. Lanny Gilmore could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Sigit Sulaksana made a huge save. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel Bolton in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes in the game, Arturo Turner fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sigit Sulaksana having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Slower Lower FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lanny Gilmore came free, but Sigit Sulaksana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lanny Gilmore stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Slower Lower FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. John Davison hit a great ball. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sigit Sulaksana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 54th minute of play forced Slower Lower FC's goalkeeper Sigit Sulaksana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Slower Lower FC's zone, Lanny Gilmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sigit Sulaksana came out of the goal and Lanny Gilmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 played minutes Slower Lower FC got a freekick which was hit by Scottie Huston. Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Keith came free, but Aaron Smallwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel Bolton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 66th minute of play forced Slower Lower FC's goalkeeper Sigit Sulaksana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Smallwood made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Bob Keith sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Richardson to maneuver through the defense. Lanny Gilmore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sigit Sulaksana having to make a save. Sigit Sulaksana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lanny Gilmore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dominic Albright kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood got control of the ball when Bob Keith tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Bob Keith sped through Santos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aaron Smallwood. Aaron Smallwood made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Scottie Huston sent off a good shot on target. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel Bolton, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
