An unexpectedly hard shot by Nik Ciobica in the 26th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurențiu Bărănescu was the one to do the kick off. Lanny Gilmore might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Augusto Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lanny Gilmore ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute Arturo Turner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Lanny Gilmore sped through Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zé Augusto Santos.
