In the 5th minute SC Foios were awarded a corner. Julien Kupferblum went to the cornerflag to take it. Gastão Baía took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themos Leontiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Themos Leontiadis got free with Gastão Baía in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodrigo Castilho scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Evaggelos Mavroulis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Evaggelos Mavroulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermenegildo Monteiro in the 17th minute of play. Baltasar Parente made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Panionios MK's Fondas Giannakakis. When Panionios MK's Themos Leontiadis in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 24th minute Júlio Viveiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaggelos Mavroulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Baltasar Parente in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Panionios MK's Fondas Giannakakis. Panionios MK's Evaggelos Mavroulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Vilarinho in the 29th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Themos Leontiadis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gastão Baía, 1-1. A collision led to SC Foios getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Baltasar Parente hit a great ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pavlos Iordanidis to strike the kick off in the second half. Gastão Baía showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chatziioannou Lyberopoulos in the 53rd minute of the match. When Jorge Vilarinho came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the SC Foios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Vilarinho couldn't finish the play. SC Foios's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Julien Kupferblum in the 57th minute. The corner ended in Julien Kupferblum almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Panionios MK's Evaggelos Mavroulis did a great save. With a little luck, Panionios MK's Evaggelos Mavroulis got control of the ball when Rodrigo Castilho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Viveiros came free, but Evaggelos Mavroulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gastão Baía showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manel Garrincha in the 74th minute of the match. Panionios MK's Evaggelos Mavroulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermenegildo Monteiro in the 75th minute of play. SC Foios's Tarcisio Godoi was substituted for Bruno Alves. Gastão Baía took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manel Garrincha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of SC Foios booed when Panionios MK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Qin Chong Liang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st match minute, Panionios MK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stratos Karatzas to maneuver through the defense. Julien Kupferblum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Nicolau Freire put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Foios fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Panionios MK a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Chatziioannou Lyberopoulos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Foios's Gastão Baía. 3-2. The Panionios MK players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
