In the 10th minute of the match, Furman Salantes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leon Iriarte was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 12 minutes into the match, Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Otsoa Arieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfredo Barrios was slow to take the kick. During this time San Lorenzo's players had a chance to rest. 20 minutes into the match, Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia's late challenge caught a Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Aɾɳσɾ FC. booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serafino Salablanca struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Leon Iriarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aɾɳσɾ FC.. After 29 played minutes Aɾɳσɾ FC. got a freekick which was hit by Ikatz Villoldo. 29 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's Alfredo Barrios broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 33rd minute, Manny Rubion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Hibai Santiuste fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leon Iriarte, passed just outside the right post. Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s Kevin Mier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafino Salablanca got free with Leon Iriarte in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute of the match, Serafino Salablanca tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leon Iriarte saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwin Soto in the 43rd minute of play forced Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s goalkeeper Kevin Mier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafino Salablanca to make the kick off. Juan-Alfredo Villagarcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kevin Mier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as San Lorenzo's Erwin Soto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kevin Mier. That made the score 0-1 after 67 minutes of play. Kevin Mier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manny Rubion in the 71st minute of the match. Hibai Santiuste kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Kevin Mier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manny Rubion in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manny Rubion in the 80th minute of play forced Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s goalkeeper Kevin Mier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Iriarte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romelio Lukaku went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Serafino Salablanca scored 3-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leon Iriarte, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. San Lorenzo's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Aɾɳσɾ FC. had won, even though San Lorenzo had held more of the ball.
