Artur Romanov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adışirin Azayev showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0.

The wind increased when Timofey Lapitskiy made the kick off in the second half. Sergey Aguzarov took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Orxan Qasimov. Orxan Qasimov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Qaryağdı Isayev's late challenge caught a U21 Russia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Qaryağdı Isayev helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, U21 Azerbaijan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Qaryağdı Isayev to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, U21 Azerbaijan's Orxan Qasimov got control of the ball when Timofey Lapitskiy tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on U21 Russia's corner Ruslan Volochkov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Orxan Qasimov quite easily take care of the ball. Artur Romanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adışirin Azayev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A very good chance. When U21 Russia's Ilya Duryagin in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Azerbaijan's goalie prevented a goal. In the 98th minute U21 Russia were awarded a corner. Ruslan Volochkov went to the cornerflag to take it. U21 Azerbaijan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
