The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diego Cabrera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joshua Cahyono Putro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. Bolivia's Vasco Abadia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wahyu Dermawan in the 7th minute of play. Bento Reza hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Malaysia's Bento Reza got a free kick in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Cabrera got free with Joshua Cahyono Putro in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joshua Cahyono Putro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Cabrera in the 14th minute of play. Malaysia's Joshua Cahyono Putro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Cabrera in the 17th minute of play. Diego Cabrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Joshua Cahyono Putro made a huge save. In the 21st minute Wahyu Dermawan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Abadia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute of the game Gendo Panjaitan made a throw-in which Budi Sinuhaji played forward. Vasco Abadia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mulyana Bangun in the 28th minute of play. Edgar Olivares kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Diego Cabrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Joshua Cahyono Putro made a huge save. Vasco Abadia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wahyu Dermawan in the 37th minute of the match. Bolivia's Vasco Abadia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bulek Idris in the 42nd minute of play. After 46 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Abaurre. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Cabrera to make the kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Diego Cabrera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malaysia's Joshua Cahyono Putro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Bolivia got a corner. Malaysia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gelmiro Abella ran over to the corner to take the kick. Horacio Abaurre was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Diego Cabrera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joshua Cahyono Putro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Cabrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Malaysia's Gendo Panjaitan got a free kick in the 65th minute. Malaysia's Rexy Reza was substituted for Mulyana Bangun. In the 66th minute, Gendo Panjaitan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Cabrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Joshua Cahyono Putro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vasco Abadia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bulek Idris in the 70th minute of play. Haikal Suprianto hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Mario Sembiring made a precise shot to the right of Vasco Abadia. Bolivia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 83 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Sembiring came free, but Vasco Abadia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bulek Idris in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Abadia saved Bolivia from getting behind. 87 minutes in the game, Bulek Idris dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Joshua Cahyono Putro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignatius Abancens in the 92nd minute of play. Malaysia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
