Isidoro Vilalobos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rikard Hernø made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Vilalobos in the 11th minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Denmark got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lynge Gaardmand ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Denmark's Lynge Gaardmand to fire away a dangerous shot which Amado Neiva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rikard Hernø made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Vilalobos in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Isidoro Vilalobos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rikard Hernø. Isidoro Vilalobos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isidoro Vilalobos in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rikard Hernø prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Portugal's Amado Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nik Frisendal in the 34th minute of play. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Portugal's Isidoro Vilalobos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Vilalobos to make the kick off. If Isidoro Vilalobos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rikard Hernø showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Calado in the 63rd minute of the match. Harald Makhauber struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Amado Neiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. In the 70th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lynge Gaardmand to maneuver through the defense. Lynge Gaardmand hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harald Makhauber got free with Amado Neiva in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 played minutes, Denmark's Lynge Gaardmand shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amado Neiva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Denmark reached it. Guilherme Peralta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rikard Hernø having to make a save. The supporters of Portugal booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oluf Lebro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Peralta in the 90th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Rikard Hernø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Oluf Lebro.
