When Sophan Supriono came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Indonesia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sophan Supriono couldn't finish the play. After 6 minutes of play, Indonesia's Hans Benedict made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Percy Ivey was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Benedict in the 10th minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Percy Ivey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Ivey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Benedict in the 15th minute of play. Indonesia's Haji Sarap proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Indonesia from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Percy Ivey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th match minute, Indonesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Entong Rondonuwu to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Indonesia's Hans Benedict nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percy Ivey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With 25 minutes on the clock, Zachariah Lockhart commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Hans Benedict shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Hans Benedict's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Ivey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Hans Benedict struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Percy Ivey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Indonesia. In the 37thth minute of the game Hans Benedict who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canada's Percy Ivey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute Indonesia were awarded a corner. Bagol Adnyana went to the cornerflag to take it. Boyce Shipp took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haji Sarap. Haji Sarap dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hans Benedict made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Boyce Shipp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haji Sarap. Indonesia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boyce Shipp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 54 minutes into the game, Hans Benedict recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Percy Ivey. Hans Benedict showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Hans Benedict managed to get in a good position for a shot. Indonesia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Benedict was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Ivey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 63 minutes of play, Indonesia's Hans Benedict made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Percy Ivey was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brama Witarsa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Percy Ivey made a huge save. In the 71st match minute, Canada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherman Cavazos to maneuver through the defense. Percy Ivey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Benedict, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Hans Benedict shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Ivey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthieu Watkins in the 83rd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Matthieu Watkins made a precise shot to the right of Haji Sarap. Indonesia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-5.
