Ray Donovan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Ray Donovan got control of the ball when Basílio Vilanova tried to sneak it across the goal line. Basílio Vilanova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ray Donovan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Ray Donovan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Nunes in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rodolfo Mendonça hit a great ball. The supporters of Portugal booed when CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Cordaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Basílio Vilanova made a kick off. When Mauro Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Coutinho couldn't finish the play.
