Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pius Kottmann to make the kick off. In the 81st match minute, U21 Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurenzo Stante to maneuver through the defense. U21 Switzerland's Paul Parolini was substituted for Carol Rothschild. Albert Mans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Scheupach in the 95th minute of play. Albert Mans was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pius Kottmann showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 96 minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Switzerland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Netherlands.
