Spectators: 10861 (Terracing: 8148, Seating: 2497, VIP seats: 216) ACC Mavericks's Carolo Stephen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bob Hyatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shaun Mahoney in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shaun Mahoney in the 5th minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute of the match, Shaun Mahoney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bob Hyatt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Shaun Mahoney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bob Hyatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shaun Mahoney in the 15th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, ACC Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Shaun Mahoney came free, but Bob Hyatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Reynaldo Alexander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reynaldo Alexander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Parker having to interfere. Bob Hyatt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shaun Mahoney in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, ACC Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brett Waller to maneuver through the defense. The corner went over the outstretched arms of ACC Mavericks's goalie and right to Andrzej Lepper. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. ACC Mavericks's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 40th minute, Shaun Mahoney made a precise shot to the right of Bob Hyatt. ACC Mavericks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Shaun Mahoney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bob Hyatt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shaun Mahoney, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for New England Minas. Shaun Mahoney stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bob Hyatt. 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

52 minutes into the match, ACC Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Willem-Jan Ceulemans came free, but Bob Hyatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Willem-Jan Ceulemans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willem-Jan Ceulemans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bob Hyatt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shaun Mahoney's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Shaun Mahoney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bob Hyatt. ACC Mavericks's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shaun Mahoney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shaun Mahoney in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bob Hyatt saved ACC Mavericks from getting behind. Carolo Stephen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Roland Parker firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shaun Mahoney in the 72nd minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78thth minute of the game Shaun Mahoney who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. New England Minas's Stanley Metcalf was substituted for Willem-Jan Ceulemans. New England Minas made a substitution. Bernardino Erruki replaced Benny Pike. After taking down the ball on New England Minas's corner Fulvio Maria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bob Hyatt quite easily take care of the ball. When Reynaldo Alexander came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the ACC Mavericks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Alexander couldn't finish the play. Carolo Stephen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Parker having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, ACC Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Stanley Metcalf came free, but Bob Hyatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Parker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carolo Stephen, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanley Metcalf in the 96th minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the ACC Mavericks players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for New England Minas.
