The mood of the audience was pleasant when Karl Popper made the kick off which started today's match. Ecuador's attentive Abel Madaria managed to snatch the ball when Neo Lander made a throw-in in the 5th minute of the game. Ecuador's Tercero Vital got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santiago Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl Popper in the 8th minute. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcos Juez took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Neo Lander got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Santiago Torres quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Carlos Casemiro got a free kick in the 11th minute. Volker Ippig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tercero Vital in the 14th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Baldovino Barzurqueta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Torres. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Torres should have stopped the shot. In the 19th minute, Ximenez Gort left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 22nd minute Tercero Vital shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Ippig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Tercero Vital nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Volker Ippig made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Santiago Torres made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Karl Popper sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute Gumaro Cardeñosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl Popper got free with Santiago Torres in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl Popper in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Santiago Torres, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Karl Popper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Vango in the 35th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Volker Ippig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Volker Ippig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Vango, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Ecuador's Santiago Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Marcos Juez went to the cornerflag to take it. Marcos Juez made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Santiago Torres managed to reach the ball for a save. Santiago Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Juez in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Filiberto Amarita hit a great ball. Santiago Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Popper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, Ximenez Gort notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Venezuela's Volker Ippig. Volker Ippig was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ximenez Gort made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Karl Popper put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Santiago Torres. Santiago Torres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Urtsua Bernabeytia hit a great ball. Santiago Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gumaro Cardeñosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 92nd minute, Gumaro Cardeñosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Venezuela walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
