Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Augustin Amurăriței kicked off to start the match. Gustaw Petrasz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dan Mândru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Poland's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augustin Amurăriței in the 7th minute of play. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Amurăriței in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaw Petrasz got free with Dan Mândru in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Romania fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Romania's Răzvan Pârvuță looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A sloppy throw-in by Alexandru Urdoi in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Poland's Jaroslaw Dytrych. Dan Mândru made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Gustaw Petrasz sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Dascălu in the 27th minute of play forced Poland's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silviu Dascălu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Pârvuță in the 31st minute of play. With a little luck, Romania's Dan Mândru got control of the ball when Gustaw Petrasz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Romania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Korneliusz Cizeski was slow to take the kick. During this time Poland's players had a chance to rest. 36 minutes into the match, Romania's Răzvan Pârvuță sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the game Alexandru Urdoi made a throw-in which Răzvan Pârvuță played forward. Romania's Dan Mândru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Romania from getting a goal against them. Gustaw Petrasz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dan Mândru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Augustin Amurăriței had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Poland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Romania were winning 0-1.

Dan Mândru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaw Petrasz in the 52nd minute of play. Gustaw Petrasz scored 1-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dan Mândru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Poland's Gigi Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Poland from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaw Petrasz in the 71st minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Dan Mândru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Poland's Henryk Kasperczak was substituted for Aleksander Waselenczuk. Poland's Jaroslaw Milko was substituted for Korneliusz Cizeski. Romania's King Scorpio was substituted for Răzvan Pârvuță. In the 73rd match minute, Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Dascălu to maneuver through the defense. Janusz Škarpa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that King Scorpio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigi Buffon was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Romania's Dan Mândru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaw Petrasz in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Gustaw Petrasz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Mândru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Mândru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustaw Petrasz's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Gustaw Petrasz scored 2-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dan Mândru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Poland made a substitution. Cyryl Wodaszak replaced Gustaw Petrasz. Poland's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
