Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Austin Eve got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Trinidad & Tobago's goalkeeper Dwight Eversley Bissambhar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Björgólfur Rúnarsson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Austin Eve in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sigurvin Gretarsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sigurvin Gretarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austin Eve, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Iceland's Sigurvin Gretarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dansam Gift in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Eve in the 18th minute of play forced Iceland's goalkeeper Sigurvin Gretarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Björgólfur Rúnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dwight Eversley Bissambhar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Björgólfur Rúnarsson in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Dansam Gift came free, but Sigurvin Gretarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Björgólfur Rúnarsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dwight Eversley Bissambhar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Björgólfur Rúnarsson ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Trinidad & Tobago's Dwight Eversley Bissambhar got control of the ball when Hjálmar Barðason tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dansam Gift received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Sigurvin Gretarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dansam Gift scored 0-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sigurvin Gretarsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Iceland's Kristleifur Sveinbjörnsson got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 45th match minute, Iceland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marbjörn Garpsson to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Trinidad & Tobago were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Kristleifur Sveinbjörnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Hjálmar Barðason's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Austin Eve's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Sigurvin Gretarsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 61 minutes Iceland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jamal Vidale who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Jamal Vidale almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Iceland's Sigurvin Gretarsson did a great save. 64 minutes into the match, Hjálmar Barðason had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dwight Eversley Bissambhar. Trinidad & Tobago's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hjálmar Barðason was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The supporters of Trinidad & Tobago booed when Iceland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björgólfur Rúnarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Iceland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hjálmar Barðason to maneuver through the defense. Hjálmar Barðason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Iceland's goalkeeper Sigurvin Gretarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Austin Eve. 80 minutes into the match, Austin Eve had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sigurvin Gretarsson.
