After 39 minutes of play, Khachatryan's Xavier Duff made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Suarez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Khachatryan booed when University of Rochester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee White didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Armen Gabrielyan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Bernie Odell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. University of Rochester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernie Odell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Xavier Duff made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Suarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Duff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Suarez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
