When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Claudio Del Giudice sped through New England Minas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roland Parker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Dillon in the 24th minute of play forced Creekers's goalkeeper Bryant Miles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New England Minas's Fulvio Maria was substituted for Domenico Dillon. 75 minutes in the game Tomasz Bielejewski did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Christos Pountos. Creekers's Su Xu Jie was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roland Parker in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Creekers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathan Douglas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of New England Minas's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. New England Minas may have spent more time on the ball, but Creekers were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
