An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Reeves in the 8th minute of play forced U21 Thailand's goalkeeper Athip Charoenpol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Athip Charoenpol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gökdeniz Karadeniz in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Jak Wittayapiban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's Walter Eaton broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Murat Dogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Thailand's Traiphob Yati sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donnie Graham narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, U21 Canada's Murat Dogan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Athip Charoenpol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Gökdeniz Karadeniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Athip Charoenpol made a huge save. After some careless play in the U21 Canada defense, Tawan Maspakorn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donnie Graham. The U21 Canada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donnie Graham should have stopped the shot. Gökdeniz Karadeniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Athip Charoenpol made a huge save. The corner ended in Sidney Aupry almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Thailand's Athip Charoenpol did a great save. Athip Charoenpol made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Gökdeniz Karadeniz sent off a good shot on target. Donnie Graham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traiphob Yati in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murat Dogan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Murat Dogan sped through U21 Thailand's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Athip Charoenpol. Cristobal Reeves succeeded in the game's 57th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. After having played for 62 minutes, Gökdeniz Karadeniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Canada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gökdeniz Karadeniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 Thailand's Athip Charoenpol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gökdeniz Karadeniz in the 68th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, U21 Thailand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jak Wittayapiban to maneuver through the defense. U21 Canada made a substitution. Mark Reeder replaced Alonso Lagrange. In the 69th minute, Jak Wittayapiban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Athip Charoenpol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murat Dogan in the 70th minute of the match. Athip Charoenpol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murat Dogan, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 79th minute, Cristobal Reeves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Canada fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. U21 Canada made a substitution. David Trezeguet replaced Murat Dogan. Mark Reeder took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Athip Charoenpol. Athip Charoenpol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. U21 Thailand's Athip Charoenpol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Reeder in the 95th minute of play. When David Trezeguet came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the U21 Canada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Trezeguet couldn't finish the play. U21 Canada's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
