After a rather tough play, U21 Hungary's Attila Henter got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 7 minutes into the match, Attila Henter notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of U21 Ireland's Bil Gillmour. Bil Gillmour was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lóránt Kaiser was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Irving McPaul capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Irving McPaul really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Lóránt Kaiser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irving McPaul in the 16th minute. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Lóránt Kaiser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Irving McPaul. Bil Gillmour came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Hungary's Lajos Bollobás. But to his dismay, Lajos Bollobás quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Irving McPaul blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lóránt Kaiser having to make a save. Lóránt Kaiser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irving McPaul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lajos Bollobás kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Bil Gillmour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lajos Bollobás in the 35th minute of the match. If Irving McPaul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lóránt Kaiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irving McPaul in the 38th minute of play. Csaba Bihari made in the 42nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by David Guetta. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

U21 Hungary's Krisztián Újfalussy was substituted for Csaba Bihari. U21 Hungary's Róbert Szőcs was substituted for Pál Lipták. U21 Ireland's Bil Gillmour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lajos Bollobás in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to U21 Hungary getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Krisztián Újfalussy hit a great ball. U21 Ireland made a substitution. Enrique Mariano Okaka Chuka replaced Irving McPaul. In the 61st match minute, U21 Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krisztián Újfalussy to maneuver through the defense. The U21 Ireland fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when U21 Ireland's Enrique Mariano Okaka Chuka looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Mariano Okaka Chuka in the 70th minute of play forced U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Lóránt Kaiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute Enrique Mariano Okaka Chuka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lóránt Kaiser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the U21 Hungary defense, Enrique Mariano Okaka Chuka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lóránt Kaiser. The U21 Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lóránt Kaiser should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute, Ferenc Mester fired a really elegant long shot, but Bil Gillmour threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. If Iza Keresztes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, U21 Ireland's Bil Gillmour got control of the ball when Lajos Bollobás tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bil Gillmour made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lajos Bollobás in the 89th minute. The U21 Ireland support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
