With a little luck, Uruguay's Valentine Pipa got control of the ball when Pepito Hualde tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Ibar Codina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xzavion Sando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ibar Codina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xzavion Sando having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ibar Codina in the 42nd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Xzavion Sando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentine Pipa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timeteo Ucieda in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Paraguay's Lucado Pedraza was substituted for Nestor-Raul Sotelo. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ibar Codina was the one to do the kick off. Fanuco Santibañez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucado Pedraza hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
