Aristides Fernado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chorrillos FC- OFF's goalkeeper Aristides Fernado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aristides Fernado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Javiar in the 10th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Mercedario AFC's Fernan Llanos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aristides Fernado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Chorrillos FC- OFF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tomás Txaran hit a great ball. Melquiades Fraco hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Chorrillos FC- OFF were furious when Gaudencio Claris was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chorrillos FC- OFF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice moves Melquiades Fraco could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Benjamin Cortez however easily saved by the left post. Melquiades Fraco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Benjamin Cortez made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Melquiades Fraco took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Benjamin Cortez to make any attempt to save it. If Melquiades Fraco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Mercedario AFC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Vicente Javiar made the kick off in the second half. Niceto Walme struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Aristides Fernado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mercedario AFC. 53 minutes into the match, Fernan Llanos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aristides Fernado. Chorrillos FC- OFF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernan Llanos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Tomás Txaran took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Cortez. Benjamin Cortez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. After 60 minutes of play, Mercedario AFC's Niceto Walme made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aristides Fernado was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Javiar in the 63rd minute of play forced Chorrillos FC- OFF's goalkeeper Aristides Fernado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aristides Fernado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Llanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Teo Rutenio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chorrillos FC- OFF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mercedario AFC the free kick. Teo Rutenio kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Aristides Fernado made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Fernan Llanos sent off a good shot on target. Benjamin Cortez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Txaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 minutes, Melquiades Fraco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chorrillos FC- OFF and the Mercedario AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vicente Javiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristides Fernado having to interfere. Benjamin Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Txaran in the 72nd minute of the match. Mercedario AFC's Benjamin Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Fraco in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute, Tomás Txaran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Cortez was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-5. In the 85th minute, Mercedario AFC's Hernan Garcia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-7. Benjamin Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Fraco, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Benjamin Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Fraco in the 89th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severo Rioja during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute, one of Mercedario AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mercedario AFC. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Chorrillos FC- OFF. Tomás Txaran stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benjamin Cortez. 4-7. Fernan Llanos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Aristides Fernado made a huge save. The Mercedario AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mercedario AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
