An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaume Fenner in the 4th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Roger Wallman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patric Kvarnström scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hugo Campos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Patric Kvarnström took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hugo Campos to make any attempt to save it. The audience was convinced that Patric Kvarnström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Campos was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Chile's zone, Patric Kvarnström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Campos came out of the goal and Patric Kvarnström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patric Kvarnström in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Campos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Don Carlomagno hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Hugo Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patric Kvarnström in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patric Kvarnström in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Campos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the U21 Chile defense, Andréas Olsman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Campos. The U21 Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Campos should have stopped the shot.
