Spectators: 10301 (Terracing: 7726, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Rene Vagula started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute Edvin Kaldalu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute, U21 Portugal's Hipólito Ferro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hipólito Ferro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Portugal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hipólito Ferro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, U21 Portugal's Hipólito Ferro got a free kick in the 7th minute. U21 Portugal made a substitution. Nélson Marques replaced Elias Miguéis. Hipólito Ferro hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvin Kaldalu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 minutes, Nélson Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Portugal and the U21 Estonia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, U21 Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nélson Marques to maneuver through the defense. When Rene Vagula fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Estonia's protests and gave Rene Vagula a yellow card for diving instead. U21 Estonia's Antti Hein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulus Maximus in the 20th minute of play. If Paulus Maximus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes U21 Estonia got a freekick which was hit by Elar Ylipikk. 47 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Edvin Kaldalu came free, but Gigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paulus Maximus made the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes U21 Portugal got a freekick which was hit by António Fragoso. U21 Estonia's Aron Aruniit was substituted for Janno Haug. A collision led to U21 Portugal getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. António Fragoso hit a great ball. Antti Hein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigi Buffon came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Estonia's Anton Teller. But to his dismay, Anton Teller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. U21 Portugal made a substitution. Hermes Lobato replaced Carlos Ramos. U21 Portugal's Júlio Anjos was substituted for Manuel Melo. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarek Jaama in the 76th minute of play. Gigi Buffon was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Anton Teller capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anton Teller really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maarek Jaama in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Paulus Maximus came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the U21 Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulus Maximus couldn't finish the play. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarek Jaama in the 91st minute of play. Antti Hein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermes Lobato, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
