In the 34th match minute, Belarus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vseslav Slipchanko to maneuver through the defense. Rajo Višnjić who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Zenon Erkovich when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Belarus's Zenon Erkovich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Belarus from getting a goal against them. Arkady Bulatav made in the 39th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mikita Afanasev. Jadranko Ćirović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zenon Erkovich having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rajo Višnjić got free with Zenon Erkovich in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Belarus were awarded a corner. Pavel Kamenich went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Belarus's corner Pavel Kamenich fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Koča Pantić quite easily take care of the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Vseslav Slipchanko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Koča Pantić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rajo Višnjić made the kick off in the second half. Rajo Višnjić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zenon Erkovich having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liavon Kuzmich in the 58th minute of play forced Montenegro's goalkeeper Koča Pantić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Koča Pantić was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Liavon Kuzmich showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 58 minute of play. Zenon Erkovich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rajo Višnjić, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Belarus made a substitution.
