In the 16th minute, Paulus Maximus fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Antti Hein, passed just outside the right post. Antti Hein didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dar Máximo went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 20 minutes into the match, U21 Estonia's goalkeeper Antti Hein had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Ramos. U21 Portugal's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Vagula in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Elias Miguéis could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Antti Hein however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Teller in the 35th minute of play forced U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Manuel Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antti Hein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvin Kaldalu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Paulus Maximus struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Antti Hein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Portugal. The supporters of U21 Portugal booed when U21 Estonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jass Rillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Antti Hein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Melo in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th match minute, U21 Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Patrício to maneuver through the defense. U21 Estonia made a substitution. Maarek Jaama replaced Rene Vagula. Jaime Patrício hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Gigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maarek Jaama in the 58th minute. After some careless play in the U21 Estonia defense, Júlio Anjos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antti Hein. The U21 Estonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antti Hein should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute, Hermes Lobato ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antti Hein was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. U21 Portugal were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Estonia for a fine match.
