Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Hernán Torrejón got the match started through his kick off. U21 Spain's Juan Cazorla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernán Torrejón in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Felipe Sirvent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Cazorla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernán Torrejón, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Pau Nieto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Navarro Montoya. U21 Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pau Nieto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. José Alejandro Siredey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Cazorla having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Don Juan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Juan Cazorla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sebastián Jaen kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Spain's goalkeeper Juan Cazorla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Hernán Torrejón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Cazorla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute José Alejandro Siredey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Cazorla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Navarro Montoya came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Spain's Pau Nieto. But to his dismay, Pau Nieto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 47 played minutes U21 Spain got a freekick which was hit by Sebastián Jaen. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pau Nieto to make the kick off. When Don Juan fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Chile's protests and gave Don Juan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Don Juan to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Navarro Montoya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pau Nieto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Carlos Navarro Montoya was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 77 minutes into the game, U21 Spain's Fernando Simon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Navarro Montoya made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. 80 minutes into the match, Cheito Cortés dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan Cazorla, 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cheito Cortés in the 91st minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Juan Cazorla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Navarro Montoya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Simon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, one of U21 Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Chile. U21 Chile:s Carlos Navarro Montoya showed great skill when he stopped Balša Renny:s penalty. U21 Spain's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
