Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) In the 7th minute Tito Tapia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ziro But saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tanio Pappenheim kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Lester Fenstermacher might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mario Jesus Paul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lester Fenstermacher ran back to his position shaking his head. Mario Jesus Paul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lester Fenstermacher in the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Lester Fenstermacher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Jesus Paul came out of the goal and Lester Fenstermacher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute of the match, Don Luis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ziro But was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Tito Tapia came free, but Ziro But reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ziro But took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tito Tapia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Mario Jesus Paul, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kurt Cobain made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tanio Pappenheim immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tito Tapia in the 37th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Ziro But to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ziro But took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tito Tapia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Switzerland's Lester Fenstermacher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mario Jesus Paul made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tito Tapia to strike the kick off in the second half. Chile's Tito Tapia got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tanio Pappenheim in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ziro But prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 54th minute, Gregor Schwab hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Tanio Pappenheim came free, but Ziro But reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ziro But made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tanio Pappenheim in the 56th minute of play. In the 61stth minute of the game Lester Fenstermacher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Mario Jesus Paul was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Monday von Witzendorff got free with Mario Jesus Paul in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute of the match Switzerland got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gregor Schwab ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience cheered loudly when Gregor Schwab's long shot in the 72nd minute became 1-3 when the ball went to the left of and passed Mario Jesus Paul. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Cobain didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Monday von Witzendorff got free with Mario Jesus Paul in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Isadoro Trujillo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ziro But. Ziro But dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Switzerland made a substitution. Maxime Moench replaced Quentin Vonrotz. 87 minutes into the game, Switzerland's Lester Fenstermacher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mario Jesus Paul made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. The referee felt a red card was in order, 92 minutes into the game, when Chiquito Chavarria put in a rough tackle. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chile! After 93 minutes Chile's goalkeeper Mario Jesus Paul managed, with a little bit of luck, save Lester Fenstermacher's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. In the 93rd minute, Lester Fenstermacher made a precise shot to the right of Mario Jesus Paul. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maxime Moench got free with Mario Jesus Paul in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Switzerland supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Switzerland would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
