If Ildefonso Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ildefonso Ursino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ildefonso Ursino got free with Ulpiano Torrijos in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Rene Osoitz hit a great ball. With a little luck, Panama's Ulpiano Torrijos got control of the ball when Gabriel Motowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Mexico's Ildefonso Ursino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulpiano Torrijos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ulpiano Torrijos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ildefonso Ursino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. Ildefonso Ursino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ulpiano Torrijos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luchito Mendoza in the 29th minute of play. Ildefonso Ursino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulpiano Torrijos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Ramón Quiros scored 2-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Cesaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ulpiano Torrijos came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Ildefonso Ursino. But to his dismay, Ildefonso Ursino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 45th minute Ildefonso Ursino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulpiano Torrijos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luchito Mendoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramón Quiros to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Quiros came free, but Camilo Cesaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel Motowski in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulpiano Torrijos saved Panama from getting behind. Luchito Mendoza kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Panama made a substitution. Hermes Gil replaced Wiliam Vergara. Panama's Romel Henriguez was substituted for Luchito Mendoza. Mexico made a substitution. Albano Belo replaced Gabriel Motowski. Ulpiano Torrijos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ildefonso Ursino's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Camilo Cesaro made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Ramón Quiros sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Mexico booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Hendrix didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Ildefonso Ursino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulpiano Torrijos was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. The supporters of Panama booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Olentzaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jimmy Hendrix got a free kick in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Ildefonso Ursino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Ulpiano Torrijos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mexico's Camilo Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermes Gil in the 95th minute of play. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
