Elco Pepping went to the cornerflag to take it. Netherlands's Ger Gerritzen got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Slovenia's goalkeeper Benis Vidačković, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Slovenia getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Emilijano Kolar hit a great ball. Netherlands's Corné Heida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. If Wilfred Jonge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgil Urbanič was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Slovenia's goalkeeper Benis Vidačković, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elco Pepping in the 30th minute. After some careless play in the Slovenia defense, Hayden Hoebe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benis Vidačković. The Slovenia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benis Vidačković should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Hayden Hoebe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Hayden Hoebe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benis Vidačković breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Netherlands's Ger Gerritzen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 92nd minute of the match, Johan Saanen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benis Vidačković was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
