Rolando Lavega helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Fernan Aelle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 43rd minute, Juan Corredor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute, U21 Colombia's Ariando Bernia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joonatan Leppänen. Joonatan Leppänen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0.

61 minutes into the match, U21 Colombia's goalkeeper Miguel Calero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuli Marttila. Ylermi Sairanen struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Miguel Calero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Finland. After some careless play in the U21 Colombia defense, Bombai Karjalainen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Calero. The U21 Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Calero should have stopped the shot. Fernan Aelle hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, U21 Finland's Ylermi Sairanen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. U21 Colombia's Ermegildo Guruzeta was substituted for Ariando Bernia. The U21 Colombia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Finland were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
