The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 88th minute, Beppe Ferraro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beppe Ferraro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but André Porto made a huge save. Fethi Tanto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Daniel came free, but Fethi Tanto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Portugal's André Porto got control of the ball when Hernán Crespo tried to sneak it across the goal line.
